Downloads & Drivers
USB drivers, .NET runtime, and the FLOP808 NFC programming app
USB drivers
The driver you need depends on which UART chip is in your cable. Most modern Windows PCs auto-detect — only download a driver if Device Manager shows a yellow warning (!) or "Unknown Device".
CH340 / CH340C / CH340G
For NEVERTOY808 cables, our DIY UART kit, and most Tamagotchi-community cables.
CP2102 / CP210x (Silicon Labs)
For SparkFun-style FTDI breakouts and many older serial cables. WebSerial in Chrome can sometimes have trouble with this chip — for the best experience on CP2102, use the desktop TamaHome Toolkit instead.
FTDI (FT232R, FT2232)
For genuine FTDI cables. Usually pre-installed on Windows 10/11 and macOS.
.NET runtime (Windows)
Most computers are ready to go — try opening the app first. If you see "You must install or update .NET", click Download it now in that popup for an automatic install. Manual links if you need them:
NFC programming app
Use the NFC Tools app on your phone to write custom data, links, or contacts to your FLOP808 NFC tag.
